Small Infection above upper molars.

I had an extraction two days ago so I am in some pain, however this is not my main concern now. I also have something going on on the other side of my mouth. It's been silently and slowly getting worse over the past year. I feel some pain above my upper two morals on the left side. On an crazy it showed a black spot around the tip of the tooth. As far as I know it is infection. It is developing and getting on my nerve. I don't want any root canal treatments so please let me know what are my options here besides extraction.
