Hello,

I am a 27 year old male who has been suffering with this strange foul odor for the past year and a half and I am completely puzzled as what to do next? I cannot smell the odor myself but it is definitely there as i have had some pretty obvious comments made at me. It seems as though the odor is not constantly there but decides to pop up every now and again however recently it has been fairly often. Last Christmas I spent 3 months abroad with family in the states and it seemed the smell had vanished, only to come back gain around May this year. I am a very hygienic person and shower twice a day. I use anti antiperspirant and deodorant and still the smell seems to over power it. It is so frustrating and I am starting to get very depressed, I have a very active social life and I feel I am a laughing stock now to all of my friends. I am unsure if the smell is coming from my scalp or the pores of my skin as my hair does tend to get fairly greasy but I have been washing it twice a day. Just today I was at a bar and three people next to me were smelling their underarms and making comments aimed at me so this makes me think the smell is more of a foul underarm odor than a scalp odor. I have been to the doctors but didn't get much help at all, he put me forward to see a dermatologist but there is a 5 month waiting list. Any help would me greatly appreciated.
