Sorry to hear about your a/c going out. It could be the pads.

Is there anyone you know,a family member or friend, who knows someone that can get on a ladder and fix it without having to pay an a/c repairman your first born? Once they get to the bottom of it, you might be able to find cheaper pads or parts online.

If you can't, sure hope you have oscillating fans or a portable a/c you can use until the temp starts cooling down.
