Re: Electrolytes

The lemons contain plenty of potassium, organic sodium and magnesium. The Maple syrup also has some trace minerals, although it is not an important source of nutrition, it is mostly for energy. To avoid excessive electrolyte loss do not drink more than 1 gallon of water a day, too much water can flush out electrolytes. Also, if the laxative tea and salt water flush produces excess diarrhea, limit their use to every two or three days. Excessive exercise, saunas, hot baths and any thing else that results in prolific sweating needs to be avoided. Done correctly, The Master Cleanse should not cause too much electrolyte depletion. However you may need to modify some parts of the cleanse to meet your individual needs. If you suffer dizziness, unusual weakness, or blackout spells consider breaking the cleanse. (this advice holds to any fasting modality). If you faint and lose consciousness get to a doctor immediately. I nearly died from electrolyte depletion, it is a serious medical condition and should not be ignored or treated by amateurs.
