will biopsy help determine the cause?

I went to two dermatologists today and one suggested me to do a biopsy . He told me that I have cheilitis grandularis as my lips are everted but I doubt that . I have somewhat everted and full lips since the beginning and because of ec there is inflammation which makes it look even bigger .

I don't want to do a biopsy becausw of the obvious reasons that no one has been cured even after biopsy and it leaves a scar on lips which is much worse than ec. What do you guys suggest.



I didn't have much inflammation few months back when I was leaving it alone. The inflammation got worse because of any of the three reasons:
I drank bad kefir,
I had stopped brushing my teeth for a week with toothpaste , i just used to brush with salt and water
I took ibuprofen for a week(15 tabs).

i cannot pinpoint to a single reason which worsened my inflammation as all the three were done in the same time period.
