Re: Are Glutathione IV's safe for Lyme patient with Mercury toxicity & CBS gene mutation?
His advice on supplements containing single thiol (sulfur) is more detailed than that and I won't be able to explain all here.
Roughly half of toxic folks actually are sensitive to taking more of those because they already have too much cysteine or similar even though they have low glutathione due to oxidative stress--heavy metals and maybe other factors.
So when the sensitive folks take glutathione, NAC, garlic, cilantro, etc they get a kick in the pants or worse.

There are other more technical reasons why you don't actually want to take glutathione.
Instead You want to help your body to make more glutathione and you want to reduce your oxidative stress so you don't use up so much of it. Also you can take things that recycle glutathione--other antioxdants--vitamin C, E, etc.
For example.
Results of DMSA Treatment Study, James Adams,et al

Conclusions - benefits
•DMSA greatly increases excretion of lead, and some increase in excretion of tin, mercury, thallium.
•1 round of DMSA dramatically normalized glutathione levels for at least 1-2 months, and helped normalize platelet levels (marker of inflammation) for at least 4 months
•Severity of Autism Scale. Significant improvement in both groups
Much more could be said but if you don't know if you are sensitive to kicking up HMs with thiol/sulfur groups, you'd be wise to be more thoughtful about glutathione use.

PS the doctor makes a lot more $ giving you IV GSH than telling you to take vitamin C, getting your
Amalgams removed and chelating safely ; )
