Healing Healthcare or Healthy Profit Care?

Healing Healthcare or Healthy Profit Care

Are insurance companies, doctors, the medical industry and the pharmaceutical companies in cahoots to simply make income from insurance payments, deductibles and co-pays. How do big profits come from human illness and human suffering? And who do those profits go to? If these are disease endorsing businesses they are perpetuating human suffering.

How do insurance companies make money?
How do pharmaceuticals make money?
How do doctors make money?
How do Hospitals make money?

I really do not understand how the ‘Healthcare’ industry makes money?

I imagine that huge amounts are 'written off' as losses. Perhaps, if like is asked of political presidential candidates, if their tax returns could be made public we would have some insights and appreciation of their businesses.

Are the exorbitant expenses of everything charged for a hospital visit because of poor management or is it as I've heard to help cover additional expenses to care all the charity cases the hospitals must by Law (I guess?) and, or decency care for?

I personally believe that medical care should be a ministry not big for profit business. As it is now it at least needs to be run to promote the patients’ health not just for monetary profit.

It seems that there are too many individuals and too many businesses that have lost what core human values should be. First do no harm.

I feel there is something not right. I pray for wisdom because I believe that God knows all that is knowable and He is the only one that sees the big picture.

There needs to be a wellness movement and not one just trading drugs for supplements. Seems that where big profits are big indiscretions can often be found as well.

Don't get me wrong I believe that a workman is worthy of his hire. Doctors study long and hard and incur great expenses from years of learning and they have a lot of startup expenses, liability insurance, office staff and equipment investments. But for the consumer there is not gauge for what is fair and balanced. Some Doctors charge $50 bucks and others charge in the thousands. Plus they are not taught all the ways one can use to heal the body. They do not understand the Louis Pasteur Vs Antoine Béchamp debate and the theories germs Vs environment. They know surgeries, procedures and drugs but know very little to nothing about lifestyle helps, nutrition, herbs or supplements. They seem to be trained to be drug pushers and they seem to focus only to squelch symptoms not find out the real causes and cures of patient’s conditions. Who really heals patients? Is it all about repeat business? There are so many specialists now who focus on dealing with improvements for their special area but don't see or care how their care might cause ill effects to the rest of one’s system. It appears that Doctors practice medicine to get paid because they seem to prioritize what they offer based on what is legally defensible in court and they seem to choose procedures that the AMA etc endorses as well as what the insurance companies will pay. Healthcare today seems to care about a lot of other things beside health. I am really sorry that things look this way to me. If some of my suspicions are right, and I suspect they are, this is a sad state of affairs.

Just venting and wishing I understood more and wondering why things are as they are.....
