Re: Rheumatoid arthritis medication/fasting questions
Thanks, Archus. I have heard and understand everything you are saying, and I hate being on the drugs. However, I am not sure how to wean myself off of them because if I do I will have a flare-up. I had a flare-up four days into refeeding after my last fast (before I started the drugs), and within a couple weeks I had another flare-up where I lost some of the function of my wrist (which has not yet returned). This was while I was trying to be on a vegan gluten-free nightshade-free diet. Being on the drugs stopped me from having to fear a morning flare-up everytime I went to bed.
I thought I was doing pretty well recently, my blood inflammation markers were testing as normal, I was exercising all the time, feeling more healthy, and was excited to get off the prednisone - but when I stopped it I found the disease was still underneath ready to act as soon as that cover was removed.
I know the drugs are a cover, but I don't know what to do in between the "weaning" and the fasting to prevent permanent joint damage. I understand the concepts but I am lacking some practical steps I can take to prevent permanent joint damage while trying to get everything right.
