Thanks for posting. This is a damn scary parasite.
This infestation seems very difficult to diagnose. I know there have been cases of children dying from it because it took too long to diagnose.

I hate to think how many dogs die of it. I know people think it is crazy but I treat my dogs once a month with fenbendazole and prazi as a prophylactic measure. I did not know until now that this was also the treatment for shistosomiasis. Good to know.

I use to think raccoons were cute. In the last 5 years I freak out very time I see one near my yard.
This previous nature lover is now afraid of the natural world.
