Iodine and Thyroid Nodules

I am at a loss.

I recently had a thyroid ultrasound, which shows 3 nodules (7.5mm, 3mm, and 2.5mm) My ENDO suggested that I begin taking Iodine to see if that will reduce their size, as I am Iodine deficient. He initially gave me 25mg of Logul's iodine, which sent me through the roof (hyper) for 24+ hours, what a mess. I stopped taking it for 2 days, then tried 3mgs, which also made me feel hyper.

I read that if a person has a HOT nodule, then Iodine will cause you to go hyper and that I should stop taking it and get a FNA done. I explained this to my ENDO, but he said that they do not do FNAs on nodules smaller than 1cm. WTF!!!!!!

Does that make any sense??????

Does anyone have any advice/feedback on this matter, as now it seems the hyper symptoms are still here and I am struggling to figure out my next step.

Thanks,

DanteNXS
