Stomach Cancer Total Gastrectomy

Hi there... I'm hoping there's someone or many that beat the odds and healed themselves. My Father just got diagnosed with stomach cancer and the dr took out the tumor that was on top area in his stomach of a size of 3cm. Now the dr found more cancer cells in his stomach-lymph nodes area and highly suggest to take out his entire stomach to lessen the chance of it spreading even more. I'm trying to find other ways to help my father, instead of doing a total Gastrectomy. Did anything help for anyone? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
