Pregnant, iodine and levothyroxine

Hello,

I'm 19 weeks pregnant and have been taking 12.5mg of Iodine ever since I got pregnant. I didn't know I was pregnant when I started taking Iodine and yes I take all the other supplements with it. I figured I should continue to take it and not just abruptly stop it in the middle of pregnancy. (At least that's where my logic is) I just got my thyroid levels tested and my midwife said they were slightly elevated. Never had my thyroid tested until now. She said I have subclinical hypothyroidism and that she wants to start me on levothyroxine right away. The lowest dose possible first. I really don't want to take this but I don't think I have many options while I'm pregnant, unless someone can offer me any advice otherwise. I hate medication unless it's something I absolutely have to have and more natural than not so this really bothers me. Any input or advice would be appriciated. I don't want to not take it and end up harming my baby either with my hypothyroidism. Has anyone else been in this position?
