But then again, you have never used a ParaZapper. A world of difference.

If you remember, Dr. Clark's zapper output between 5 volts and 7.5 volts on a fresh 9 volt battery. Since ParaZapper uses a stronger, more advanced chip that the regular 555 timer, it outputs between 9.4 volts and 9.8 volts on a fresh 9 volt battery.

Also, while the regular Clark zapper uses a 1 kohm resistor for current limiting, ParaZapper uses a self compensating current limiter. For that reason, ParaZapper provides a stronger signal.

A few people have remarked that at some of the lower frequencies, ParaZapper might be a little painful but that is the result of the body sensitivity to low frequency.
