Re: Heart

Diabetes management is the place to start. Get your blood sugars down and keep them tightly controlled with low glycemic diet and excercize. That will slow the damage.

Other things to do include Liver Flushing regularly, rebounding 3x daily to stimulate the lymph system, saunas.... Basically, stimulate the natural cleaners in your body.

Increase fiber, both soluble and insoluble to at least 40 grams per day. Eat a whole apple or orange before each meal. That provides fiber and dampens your appetite.

Increase intake of magnesium to lower blood pressure (weak kidneys permit loss of magnesium, so you have to take way more).

Increase intake of potassium (important to balance sodium for blood pressure).

Antioxidants are also important to protect your nerves, eyes and the cells in general from the oxidation caused by high blood sugar. The best is alpha-lipoic acid, 600 mg 3x daily. This has been known to REVERSE diabetic neuropathy. Vitamin C, Vitamin E and other antioxidants are also good.

Cut out bad fats (trans-fats, animal fats, butter, etc). Going vegan for at least a few months will have a remarkable effect.

Increase intake of good fats -- 30% of calories from olive oil, flax oil, avocados, nuts, etc. Supplement a Tbs 2x daily of omega 3 fats from pharmaceutical grade (no mercury) fish oil.
