Root Canal tooth fell out

Hi everyone, I'm new here. About 7 years ago I had a root canal done (on the very back molar) by a terrible dentist (he was recommended as a great dentist in the area) and he never put a crown on it. Over time a small piece of the side of the tooth broke and I kept temporary filling in there to keep food from getting in. Last night the tooth fell out and now I have a hole there. A few weeks ago, I believe I had an infection there and started oil pulling and it seemed to get better plus a round of Antibiotics from my doctor. And rinsing with salt walter and tea tree oil diluted in water.

My question is will contiuned oil pulling help this from getting infencted until I can see a dentist? I have a few months until my dental insurance from my job kicsk in. I wish the dentist would have just pulled it like I wanted.
