I haven't seen one study or case report that says antidepressants 'cured' EC. It is more likely that they were used to 'manage' EC. In any case EC is not an allergic reaction - if so, it would be contact dermatitis and would likely resolve once you remove the aggravating factor.

EC is an ongoing inflammatory process that is mediated by bacterial infection.
