The color is relative to the size and density(concentration) of the particles in solution. ie, Mesosilver is composed mainly of silver microparticles which form clusters or chains in solution(floccing) causing a tea colored solution.
Comparing this with silver ions which are water soluble and the lower density of the compounds at equal concentrations with home generators, and you have your contrasting solutions.
NB. Silver ions are water soluble and will exhibit no color properties in solution.
