ounces sounds like a lot. I am unsure what quantity is best. It seems like UT is best if it is practiced a little bit every morning. For the duration of life I suppose, or at least until you just forget to do it in the morning then missing a dose may not be an accident as much as your body did not really need it that morning it you forgot to take it.
What kind of health issue are you addressing?
With the diet I find it difficult to stay on any plant only diet so I would rather just sip on much less UT each day because I do not want to modify my diet like that. I am unsure why else a veggie diet would be any better for UT other then its taste is not as strong or yucky. I would follow what ancient Indian texts describe is best. But another theory is that UT from vegetarians is less potent then peoples with diets that includes meat and fats. Also there is the whole stereotype about how "some vegans" can be irrationally mean towards non-vegans, or just moody people in general, with a smugness about them.
Not to stir up any vegan bashing debates here
The prolonged diarrhea sounds like a bigger issue and should not persist that long. The diarrhea is possibly more important to address right now then continuing with UT
