Space Heaters eye discomfort

Have severe trouble driving in the morning and seeing due to glare and light sensitivity. it appears it may be due to our space heater. if the heater is off for several hours then the problem dissipates but does not totally go away. is there a way to alleviate the problem without trashing the space heater. we do not have central heat
