(Health Secrets) It’s hard to ignore the fact that autism risk has increased at nearly epidemic levels among our nation’s children in the past 15 years. At least 1 in 68 children is now diagnosed with autism or one of the related autism spectrum disorders. A troubling link has been suggested between autism spectrum disorders and the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine in particular.
A re-analysis of CDC data, published in the August 2014 journal Translational Neurodegeneration, re-examined the statistically significant increase in MMR cases among young African American males who received their first dosage of the vaccine before 36 months of age. They found that the relative risk of the disease actually increased by 226 percent.
