I’ve heard from other sources who claim that hospitals really love injury patients,
and they despise treating the chronically ill ones.

I am not sure if there is a certain personality type that is attracted to one particular
branch of medicine or the other, or if they consciously select a specific personality
type to make it so that one branch (emergency/traumatic injury recovery) causes
people to rave about hospitals, so the other branch can get away with murder, but
that is what is happening, if you will stand by and watch them silently while they
do it.

I never liked that old saying that evil flourishes when good people stand by and
do nothing because I didn’t want to believe in evil, but when you told me about the
things you saw when you were a child, and told me that it is coming here too, I
paid attention. And I believe it is happening in the hospitals to the old and chronic-
ally ill, at a very subtle and insidious level that is being generated by the state of
complacency.
