Wheat, Sugar .. agreed - nearly inescapable. We are going to a Canadian maple syrup gathering site in the spring and the only thing I think I can eat there are the cooked beans (I hope they don't fry them ...) and maybe not even the beans, since I am not sure they don't put some gluten/wheat in the making to thicken the consistence. Top that with them putting maple syrup in nearly every dish (it is not pure sugar, but it is cooked so the vitamins are majorly gone, but thankfully the minerals are still there).
