I recall reading in my old Adelle Davis book Let's Get Well in the chapter on Gallstones that all stones have a bit of organic matter at their base, possibly bacteria. It could just as well be a parasite, too, if you ask me.

So your guess that flukes may be wrapping themselves in cholesterol is probably correct. Good comment all around! - Daizy.
