What worked for me.
I have had toenail fungus for many years, affecting over half my toes. Last year I developed a severe foot fungus on both feet, so bad that I had difficulty walking.
My dermatologist put me on generic Lamisil tablets, ketoconazole cream for the feet, and Kerydin for the nails. After about a month, I developed an allergic skin reaction over my entire body. We suspected the pills and stopped taking them, but continued with the cream and Kerydin. The foot fungus had cleared after a week or two, and the nails had gotten only slightly better.
The skin allergy abated, and I continued using the cream and Kerydin on my toes. After two or three months, or the time to fully grow a new toe nail, my nails were perfectly clear, and still are today.
I feel like the pills did help, but am also thinking that the anti fungal cream applied daily, along with the Kerydin drops, kept any fungus from recurring.
Lamisil pills need to be monitored carefully, as they can do damage. But I feel like long term daily use of the anti fungal cream helped not only with my foot fungus, but the nail fungus as well. The Kerydin could have been effective as well. Might be worth a try for those in need.
