Successful Two-Days Fast
I successfully fasted for two days and want to report this great achievement. There were a number of thoughts that I had that controlled my appetite. One of them came from the scene in the last Harry Potter book, when Harry Potter faced Voldemort and was in danger, and his wand glowed and worked of its own volition and saved Harry. I thought that I should have God come in me similarly to help in time of need. Another thought was that I should beat the flesh. A third thought was that I should think "I'm here" to be present and mindful and honest and sincere.
I know this might seem like a really small feat compared to your extended fasts, but a feat is a feat.
I started eating because I passed the kitchen too many times while walking around the house to exercise. I walked about fifteen loops, and each loop took great effort to not eat when seeing food until I just gravitated towards food on the sixteenth loop. I learned my lesson to not be in front of food and avoid the kitchen. Treadmill or outside next time.
The first meal was a little scary because I ate a lot. Kidney beans, two large mooncakes, winter melon, three bowls of loofah, banana, green beans, cabbage, grapes, cherry tomatoes. I do not rhink mooncake is healthy for me, because eating
Sugar decreases IQ by five points, so I am never eating that ever again.
Tomorrow I will try evoking the God in me again and avoiding the sight of food. Meanwhile, I will watch some videos on humility in hopes it will help me with my conduct.
