Re: Exfoliative Cheilitis is gone!
Hopefully this works...this is the exact cream I bought at Rite Aid. I tossed the applicators.

It's come and gone in various intensities in the past. This time was the worse, with not being able to open my mouth very wide. Last time it went on for several months until I took acidophilus then it took another 6 weeks to start going away.
So it may come back, certainly. But now I know more about it and am going to stay away from sugar, alcohol and bread products (to a degree).
I stopped the cream 11 days after I started it. I continued to peel what I could during that time. I just couldn't stand it. Symptoms started to clear around day 5. That's when I knew something was changing. The red ring around my mouth started going away and they didn't feel as tight when I woke up. By day 8, significant difference.
Now I use Aquaphor or Lansinoh in the morning and evening, and coconut oil maybe twice daily. I don't remember a time when I didn't need to put anything on my lips during the day, so I don't think a few times daily is that much. (maybe I'm wrong and you shouldn't need anything?) But I also wear lipstick and don't like the dry feeling of some of them, so I add to it.
I take an acidophilus capsule once a day, and vitamin B complex. Don't know if the vitamin B had anything to do with it, but I need it anyway, since I don't eat meat.
I'm no doctor, but I do think that in my case, it was a candida overgrowth. Reading more about that, I matched almost every symptom and it just made sense to me. I plan to watch the
Sugar intake, add a few healthier options to my diet and will try the cream if it pops up again.
I figure if it's something that someone hasn't tried yet, might as well give it a go. But them you'd have to reign in the yeast overgrowth in your system as well, so check that out online, too. Hope this helps.
