25 years on thyroid meds

Hi everyone
I'm new to the forum. I've been reading a lot of the posts but I have a question that I don't see answered. I have been hypothyroid for 25 years. I've been on everything from synthroid to arm our to compounded t3 t4. I also have been told that I have very dense breast tissue. I started taking Lugols 5% . I started quite slowly. I felt no change in my energy level or overall pain. I up the dose over a few weeks to 50mg. I feel ok. I have been eating Atkins style because I can't tolerate bread etc and finally starting to see some weight drop but very slow.
I've seen that many people are taking much more than 50 mg. Because of the density of my breasts and the 25 years of thyroid meds should I consider taking a higher dose?
Thank you for your responses.
