Cholecystectomy , Hepaticojejunostomy...what now?

Hello, hello to all!

My mother (56 years old, active, healthy eater, only ever complained of watery eyes before) underwent emergency Gall Bladder Removal surgery over a month ago and has had five surgeries since. During the Cholecystectomy, the doctor accidentally clipped her bile duct. (It can get dark in there, I guess.) This lead to a Hepaticojejunostomy, and my mother has had a a bile drain sticking out of her body for the past two weeks.

She has asked for to talk to a nutritionist four times to no avail. The doctor responded, "You can eat anything, don't worry." When she was taken back into the hospital for Cholangitis , my mother asked why it happened and the doctor responded so: "Must be something you ate."

Medical theater of the absurd.

The doctor even told my mother there was nothing to do to prevent further infection. Now:

1. What can my mother do to prevent further infection?

2. Is a Liver Flush safe after hepaticojejunostomy? If so, how soon after this procedure?

3. Without doing a liver flush, what can my mother do to keep her liver healthy? What can or can't she eat?

4. Finally: what now for my mother? Will her life be filled with hospitals and doctors who demean her and don't listen?

Many many thanks for reading this long post from a newcomer.

Wishing you the best,

Stormy

P.S. Mom's eyes have cleared up.
P.P.S. I am angry.
