Re: Drastic weight gain after ssris

Raw organic fruits and vegetables, lightly washed, and raw organic cow's milk.

All of those foods offer a wider variety of strains of gut flora than any probiotic you can buy in the marketplace.

When you buy probiotics you have to make sure to eat the foods that the probiotics live off of, and pray to high heaven that your existing gut flora (especially if you have biofilm colonies/biofilms in there dominating your insides) doesn't kill off the new colonists you send in.

Have you read about kombucha, saurkraut and other fermented vegetables and drinks work?

Ferments carry a three-prongded benefit/way to colonize - they have first, the prebiotics, the food that the probiotic lives off of (like cabbage in sourkraut), the bacterium, and the growth factors the bacterium produce while fermenting the food (signals to other bacterium, which come in the form of butyric acid, lactic acid, proprionic acid, etc, etc).

The growth factors are especially important- they help maintain the integrity (tightness and health of) the gut wall, and stimulate the digestive tract to move. Butyric acid especially helps prevent things like candida albicans from shedding their cell walls and becoming infectious/biofilmic (one of the prime ways the gut wall is torn down).

Raw helps a ton with weight loss, I've gone down about 15 pounds in 3 weeks, even where I've slipped up and given into cravings - and that's /with/ health probs caused by dental Amalgams (which is an Antibiotic that can trigger candidiasis) and the biofilm thing.

Anyways, ferments can be an entertaining experiement, but they taste pretty damned sour!

The list of digestive flora that ives in ferments (yogurt is a ferment!) are impressive, 22 species alone in a kombucha, and that's just with a few varieties of kombucha analyzed.

http://www.thecandidadiet.com/guide-to-probiotics/ <- much more questions answered here, including some info on which probiotics folk have preferred using against candidiasis.

I have no idea if acidophilis contributes to weight gain, just that biofilms can show up as extra weight gain- water weight, as I wrote ;) They love the dark, moist, and acidic conditions, and they don't give up growing if they don't have to.
