Hello and I'm so very sorry for the delayed response. For some reason I didn't get updates about new messages from CZ. Yes, I know men who've tried this recipe and other versions with ingredients like Tongaat Ali and Maca root. Please only use a quality Raw honey. A local raw honey that has not been heated is fine but of course Sidr is best hands down!

Also, for those of you looking for authentic Sidr honey, the following article exposes the dangers of "fake" low-grade imitations being produced by companies from Pakistan and Turkey, who are selling bootleg Sidr (cut with inferior honey) to unsuspecting customers. You have to be careful! This is exactly what happened when black seed began to grow in popularity--diluted oils and any old black colored seed being peddled as Nigella sativa :(

I had someone tell me that the company they purchased their Buckwheat honey from told them it was comparable to Sidr---NOT! REAL SIDR HONEY has as many curative benefits as Manuka. And, it tastes nothing like you have ever tasted. The color, flavor, aroma, and viscosity far surpasses anything produced domestically anywhere. There are different grades, with the Do'ani being the best, but I've tasted 3 varieties and I still can't find anything even remotely on par. But as I said, for the above recipe a good absolutely raw honey should do it.

I've shared the companies that have the best black seed products in my experience, in other posts on this forum. But for the other herbs I buy from mountain rose herbs and Bulk Apothecary sometimes too. Here's a link to the bootleg Sidr article:
