Good info. What can you do about checking where does the food come from? There is no information available that helps us figure out in what type of soil conditions the fruits and veggies were grown and then wether they were picked before they ripen or not. There are a few ways we can be sure to know these things, one, buying organic and buying from a local farm you are familiar with. Oh! and one other way is to use refractometer.
So I agree we need some supplements. When I was growing up we bought fruits and veggies from the market which was picked same day, we ate most of it the same day. Next day went to the market again. Also Wheat flour was made daily in a home mill and never we used the flour next day. So those days are gone.
I think you have a good idea to grow your own stuff, but how much can you grow?
