Re: the law of detachment
Hi, I'm not around the forum much these days, but used to be. You can look and see back, on my water fasts. . .
I just stumbled upon your post, as the subject of detatchment caught my eye. I've come to the conclusion -insight, realization, aha!- just recently, that it's very misunderstood, misinterpreted, and thus broadly mis-taught. The best thing I've come across in many years to effectively orient people to what detachment as a concept is actually pointing toward- which is a living state of being
that is fully ON, is something called Balanced View. It is not anything "new", but rather the brilliant synthesis of Wisdom teachings, pared down to essence, in a way that speaks to modern people, and is Universal. I'm not selling or promoting it, just deeply impressed at how simple it is, and how it teaches in a way that is completely gettable. It's also completely resonant with any particular faith or religion. . . .
Detachment is almost too simple a concept for people. The same is true of the concept of a person's "midline", and "going to the midline", to 'power up', just as you would a computer. This too is brilliance of the sort I recommend looking into.
My Best, Chiron
