Random muscle twitches after exercise

It's not painful, but I'd... I have just taken a longer walk and the muscles I have used most are twitching, seemingly randomly. Buttocks and thigh muscles, just under the epidermal layer. Why are they twitching?

I have had type 1 diabetes for over eighteen years, and one session of cancer (fourteen years ago).

During the first few years of diabetes and just every now and then, one of my big types would curl at full extension, painfully, if I pointed it at the end of the bed while resting.

Dental Amalgam filings were involved with developing type 1 diabetes.
