Re: Iodine for cats
I was going to say, I make my own cat food and have canned food available for times when I'm between making her some.
I make bone broth every week and I chop up liver parts of the chicken before I broil a hen, and then I mash up a few of the soft bones after I cooked broth in my crock pot.
My recipe:
1. raw chicken livers chopped up finely
2. 1/2 pound of cooked chopped up chicken
3. cooked chicken neck
4. 1/2 cup brown rice
5. 1 or 2 mashed up soft bone from broth
6. 1 soft boiled egg chopped up
7. 5-10 leaves chopped up fresh basil
I don't discount some of the dry food on the market. some of the high end food is a pretty good scientific formula. My cat loves the stuff on the occasions that I buy her the high end dry.
It's just that I figure, why buy the high end forumlas for the cat when I'm already in the habit of buying a whole hen every week and using the meat and parts for meals and broth anyway.
