I have to respectfully disagree about using noxema. Any creams or ointments containing menthol, camphor or steroids should not be used on the delicate skin of the anus. A dermatologist clued me into this. It will help in the short term, but makes things much worse in the long run. Use coconut oil. If it doesn't irritate your skin you can add 1 or 2 drops of tee tree oil to the coconut oil. The coconut oil, surprisingly, really helps with the itch and it is antifungal and antibacterial too. Noxema, Vicks vapor rub and hydrocortisone creams are not. Tweet
