This country was never meant to be a democracy. It was a constitutional republic. It mutated because we the people failed to exercise the kind of civic responsibility that is required to maintain a constitutional republic. And now we the people are screaming like a bunch of horrified stuck pigs because those willing to assume leadership roles are doing so in a manner they don't like.
It is always the irresponsible kid who left the milk out to spoil with the audacity to accuse Mom and Dad of neglect for not keeping the refrigerator stocked. A populace with the sense of entitlement that expects to be serviced like kings and queens without contributing anything of value back to society or reciprocating with responsibility is what has allowed the state of freedom we once were given to mutate into the fascist regime it is now. But the framework still exists. And the freedom could be reclaimed. All it would take is for the people to assume civic responsibility. If fighting another revolutionary war seems easier it is because they haven't learned how to communicate effectively with uncle sam.
