Osteoporosis is a condition that affects the bones. where as osteoarthritis is a painful form of arthritis that affects the joints in the body. 
Bone mineral density test is required for diagnosis of osteoporosis and Medical history, physical examination, x-rays are all used to diagnose osteoarthritis
