I suspect you are right, you should probably use a high quality plant based one. The one I use was recommended by the candida experts group for digestion issues. At the time, I had candida and my digestion was very bad, including bad acid. These vegan enzymes made a big difference. Right now I don't have candida anymore, but i still like to use them with my big meals or when I eat out. Everyone in our home is using them, even my spoiled teenagers :)
