Corona discharge is a high voltage spark across a dielectric to diffuse the spark into a corona.

Whether this is called cold, hot, corona, is silly. Is is still using electricity with a high voltage transformer, and a dielectric.

Lots of debate about what voltage is perfect, what frequency is perfect, and what dielectric material is right.

In the end those things can be debated but they are still all Corona Discharge.
