refined coconut oil - is it ok??

Hi guys,

I've recently started using the KTC brand of refined coconut oil and am wondering is refined oil (with non-hydrogenated fats) as good as virgin oil for ANTIMICROBIAL properties???? I'm only looking for the antimicrobial properties really and according to my research refined cococnut oil is just as good as long as it doesn't have any hydrogenated fat. Could someone confirm this and check the KTC brand for me that it is ok to use??

My research suggests nearly all coconut oil (refined or virgin) contains lauric acid, caprylic acid and capric acid.

EDIT:

P.S. the reason I don't use virgin coconut oil is because I'm quite low paid right now and its out of my price range.
