On this occasion: Whilst making a small batch I deliberately allowed silver oxide to accumulate on the rod.
I drained away the solution till there was about 1cm of the solution covering the settled silver oxide. It tends to leave thin silver plating on the jar.
This solution I use liberally on the affected area. It always has a kind of mild ‘oily’ feel to it.
Some consider this oxide harmless and even use it for gum infections.
I even had topical Antibiotics on this outbreak with limited success. This oxide was so effective.
