Re: Day 13 of water fast. Extreme nausea and vomiting

You know best whether you want to wait it out, but if I were in your shoes, I would end the fast with ginger tea + honey (calms stomach) and continue cleansing in a less intense way - probably juicing or another modified fast that includes supplements.

I have been thinking a lot about supplements lately. The received wisdom from Shelton is that you should not supplement. He has theories as to why, etc. However, many other fasting experts are less religious and modify fasts - e.g. the author of "how and when to be your own doctor" book that can be found on the soil and health library. Lately, I have been thinking that it is possible that both approaches are workable depending on a person's circumstances. I have done a pure WF and I'm toying with the idea of making the fast that I am about to start soon for some health issues that popped up a modified one - to compare the experience.

In either case, I think a modified fast will not kill you -- actually, if you are vomiting too much right now, it could be

(1) you're too depleted on electrolytes, in which case the correct thing is to re-supply the body as being too low can be dangerous, or

(2) you're detoxing too fast for your organs of elimination to handle and you're poisoning yourself, in which case you should probably slow down the rate of detox.

of course, there is the possibility that if you wait it out, things will clear up.

It is your choice, but if I were you I would do ginger tea, get electrolytes either from juicing or sports supplements or by whatever method you trust, and fast gently for a while.

Oh ---- an enema may help. The colon absorbs water out of the food, so this can be a way not only to reduce the toxic load on your body but also to hydrate yourself a little given all the vomiting you've been doing.

Whatever you decide to do, keep it gentle and let us know how it goes so others can learn from your experience.
