recently my husband has had this problem. He smelled like feces were just emanating from his whole body, and especially his breath smelled like poop. I read on some other forums that people who treated themselves for worms resolved this problem immediately. I didn't think about worms before we traveled to India, but even people in the US get worms. The people on this forum were all US citizens who had worms, and the treatment (usually mebendazole--prescription) got rid of their worms.
