Re: Miriam Webster adds emojis as words (destruction of language)

This is a ridiulous arguement, they just created 1700 new definitions. That is not the destruction of language it is the creation of language. The premise of the post is what Orwell warned about.

Also you spelt Merriam wrong.

Even if Merriam did delete some words from there dictionary that doesn't mean those words go away, Merriam Webster does not have a monopoly on words unless you give them that power.
