I just read that dates are a good source of Vitamin A, C, E, K, B2, B6, niacin and thiamin. They are also a good source of mineral iron, potassium, selenium, magnesium, phosphorous and copper. It might be best to get vitamins from food instead of supplements. Well, I know it is. But, I didn't know what a good source dates were.
I'm really not sure which method is helping your lips. Could you eliminate one or the other for some time to see if your lips get worse?
