I had comprehensive mineral and vitamin deficiency testing, which was different from standard blood tests because it actually showed which minerals and vitamins you weren't absorbing opposed to what was in your blood the time. I found it beneficial to see what all my levels were.
I also had a basic stool test showing rotavirus a. It's a temporary virus or cause of diarrhea, which i did not have so I was confused by that. The test didn't show what bacteria or fungus was in my gut, though. Since celiac disease causes an imbalance of bacteria in the gut, I want to know what my levels are. In the future, I plan on ordering a stool test from a private lab for more advanced and accurate testing.
