Re: Dr. Platt – Adrenaline Dominance
Seems like an interesting talk. I hope to get to listen to it.
I'm surprised about it being posted to the ADHD group. The "H" in my moments of ADHD seem to respond best to modest intake of stimulants, caffeine and phenols; supplementation with magnesium and glutamine.
I have more of a problem with inattentive ADD and some catecholamine depression. I tend to have a need for more adrenaline and other catecholamines. I'm a bit of an adrenaline addict.
I seem to have more of a problem with my adrenal medulla's production of adrenaline related chemicals. I also have/had a cadmium and lead problem.
In contrast in the heavy metal detox groups the Hg toxic folks more commonly have problems on the adrenal cortex side leading to adrenaline surges. Gradual support for for cortex hormones such as progesterone sometimes help according to many reports in the group. I can also feel this happening as I tweak my intake of pregnenolone and copper.
Remember, pregnenolone is the immediate precursor to progesterone and available as in inexpensive supplement. Unfortunately not everyone will convert it down to the glucocorticoids such as cortisol.
