Hello- not sure if anyone can help. for the past 3 months i have had a persistent irritation and canker sore on the underside of my tongue. In the past i have had similar outbreaks on the inside of my cheek. I believe it might be lichen planus but i never had an official diagnosis. over time those areas healed up. back in January i had a flare up on my tongue which i believe was triggered by eating either very acidic foods or a sharp edge of my tooth that kept digging into the tongue. I went to see 2 oral pathologists and they told me i was fine and that i have some glossitis on my tongue as well. the sore on the side is getting better slowly, but a few weeks ago i ate some spicy food and it created a new sore right below the old one. the region seems to be very susceptible to new sores so i have to be so careful now how i eat and its getting very frustrating. ANyone have an idea what may be the root cause of this? i actually had all my Amalgam fillings removed last year so not sure if there is a mercury connection or not. ive been trying all kinds of treatments...rinsing with aloe juice, salt water, peroxide and have even been putting turmeric on the sore as well. any advice would be appreciated. thanks!
