I don't get it and have not gotten it ...this sentiment, general advice ...whatever you call it, has been a regular suggestion swirling around the airwaves of virtual wisdom and also found on many web sites / forums for at least the past 10 - 15 years and more. It may not be the specimen picture of modern day survivalist mentality but if/when the SHTF here, here is where I plan to be, it is where I have planned to be and where I want to be despite and inspite of however bad it turns out. Otherwise, not sure what there is to be accomplished by hiding out, for instance, in England or Europe. Among the reasons, that has the look & feel of milktoast rats scuryying, fleeing a sinking American ship of state for the prospect of security so-called and while I understand that is a kind of behavior and mentality encouraged and educated upon the masses for many decades by the global-minded, I also understand that is not the picture of a true American taking advantage of long-due ... overdue opportunity to stand against what is likely to be great odds in the planning lo these recent 50+plus years.

If there ever will be a defining moment for Americans to appropriately distinguish themselves fron the English / Spanish / French / German / Japanese / Russian / Chinese / African/ Italian / Israeli et. al foreign cousins from whom they've descended, the aforementioned long-planned SH'ingTF is it.
