If you lowered your intake of Iodine right after you maybe were saturated, then yes, it will drop like a stone because it means that that day you only just reach sufficiency. So cells (or maybe even just the thyroid) had enough only that particular day. Cells keep using it to catch up, so your Iodine levels will drop fast. Your cells might be detoxing things like bromide or heavy metals.

It will take some time (sometimes more than two years and in my case even longer) to get saturated (absorption problems, NIS problems, bromide overload, etc...)

Besides, you pee any excess Iodine out practically the same day you take it.
